PROF. SCAHILL DELIVERS "NIGHTS OF HORROR" KEYNOTE

For Halloween, Dr. Scahill was asked to deliver a keynote address as part of Nebraska Wesleyan University's innovative "Nights of Horror" event. Organizer Matthew Jarvis responded to the lack of university programming under COVID restrictions by inviting leading artists, authors, and scholars of the horror genre to deliver virtual lectures in their specialty. Dr. Scahill's lecture, "It Takes a Child to Raze a Village: On the Queerness of Monstrous Youth," expanded and updated ideas presented in his 2015 book The Revolting Child in Horror Cinema: Youth Rebellion and Queer Spectatorship.
