HORROR FILM FESTIVAL AT TELLURIDE
Dr. Scahill was in attendance as a member of the press at this year's Telluride Horror Show, now celebrating its ninth year. Following his work writing on both the horror genre and on the role of the film festival in subcultural communities, Dr. Scahill was excited to take part in the festival's energy and excitement for genre cinema. Telluride provided a beautiful backdrop for the macabre festival, which extended over three days at three separate screening venues. In addition to dozens of national and regional film premieres, the Telluride Horror Show hosted a number of horror authors and filmmakers, including Stephen Chiodo, the director of the cult classic Killer Clowns from Outer Space (1988). Be on the lookout for Prof. Scahill's standout picks from the festival, including Anna and the Apocalypse, You Might Be the Killer, Witch in the Window, DeadTectives, and Terrified.
